About Mandy
Mandy Heisler Cornelius is a psychotherapist based in Baltimore, MD who sees clients throughout the state of Maryland and DC via virtual sessions.
I’m a licensed therapist with over nine years of experience working with individuals and families across various settings, including schools, hospitals, and private practice. I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, and stress, particularly when tied to self-esteem, people-pleasing, and perfectionism.
I especially enjoy working with female teens, college students, and young professional women who are self-aware and motivated to grow. As a biracial (Asian/White) therapist, I also understand the complexities of identity for biracial and multiracial individuals and am passionate about providing a supportive space to explore these experiences.
In addition to working with clients, I’m a Maryland Board Approved Supervisor, offering clinical supervision for social workers pursuing licensure.
Outside of therapy, you can often find me exploring local coffee shops, listening to live music, taking a yoga or Pilates class, or diving into interior decorating.
MY APPROACH IN THERAPY
I believe therapy should be a collaborative experience—you're the expert on your own life, and my role is to support and guide you toward meaningful growth. My approach is person-centered and integrative, tailoring tools and techniques to fit your unique needs. I often incorporate evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Beyond this practice, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and I see infinite value in incorporating mindfulness techniques that promote a feeling of connection, awareness, and balance between your mind and body.
Above all, I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore, heal, and grow. It would be a privilege to join you on this path.

Who I Work With
-
Teens go through constant changes and can face stressors related to school, social media, and relationships. As parents, it can be difficult to know if a teen’s behavior is age appropriate, or if they would benefit from seeing a therapist. Therapy can empower teens in developing tools and strategies to support growth and success. It provides a safe space for them to express themselves without fear or judgment. If you have noticed changes or you have some concerns about your teen’s behaviors or mental health, I am here to answer any questions and support you with this process.

The challenges college students face today are complex and varied. You may feel pressure to achieve success or meet expectations placed on you. Additionally, you’re probably confronted with newfound responsibilities and decisions that impact your future. Navigating these issues are difficult to manage on your own.
