About Mandy
Mandy Heisler is a psychotherapist based in Baltimore, MD who sees clients throughout the state of Maryland and DC via virtual sessions.
As a licensed therapist, I have over eight years of experience working with individuals and families of various ages and backgrounds in school, hospital and private practice settings. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress, often accompanied by challenges with self-esteem, people-pleasing, and perfectionism. I especially enjoy working with female teens, college students, and young professional women who view themselves as self-aware and motivated to achieve meaningful personal growth. And, as a biracial (Asian/White) therapist, I am knowledgeable about unique identity issues for biracial/multiracial individuals and am passionate about supporting others in this area. In addition to my work with clients, I am a Maryland board approved supervisor and offer supervision services for social workers working toward their clinical licensure. Outside of sessions, I love exploring local coffee shops, listening to live music, going to yoga or pilates classes, and interior decorating.
MY APPROACH IN THERAPY
I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, and view clients as the experts of their own lives. In sessions, I use a person-centered and integrative approach to use tools and techniques that are the right fit for you. Additionally, I utilize CBT and ACT based strategies.
Beyond this practice, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and I see infinite value in incorporating mindfulness techniques that promote a feeling of connection, awareness, and balance between your mind and body. This is a unique and integral part of my efforts and practice. I will always bring empathy and kindness in our sessions to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can explore, grow and achieve your goals.

Who I Work With

Teens go through constant changes and can face stressors related to school, social media, and relationships. As parents, it can be difficult to know if a teen’s behavior is age appropriate, or if they would benefit from seeing a therapist. Therapy can empower teens in developing tools and strategies to support growth and success. It provides a safe space for them to express themselves without fear or judgment. If you have noticed changes or you have some concerns about your teen’s behaviors or mental health, I am here to answer any questions and support you with this process.
